VISITING AUTHORS PROGRAM

Through ELF, CIPA member authors and publishers volunteer to speak about, read from, and offer their books to schools, libraries, hospitals, and senior centers throughout the state.

CIPA ELF can also supply volunteers and books to assist Rotary or Kiwanis clubs with their Read To Me and other literacy programs.

News

In Denver on May 29, 2024, St. Elizabeth's School welcomed Carol Marra, author of How Tori Got Her Wings. Marra spoke to six classes (kindergarten through fifth grade) in six back-to-back 45-minute sessions about the importance of reading and writing and why she was compelled to write and publish How Tori Got Her Wings. CIPA ELF's Visiting Authors Program acquired and donated multiple copies of the book to ensure that many students received a free signed copy, and Carol also presented a signed hardcover copy to the school's library for their collection. Carol is a CIPA member, and How Tori Got Her Wings was submitted for consideration for a 2024 CIPA EVVY Award.
